Returning from disruption to development due to loss of water access via multiple well water system failures. But car is now operational as well, leading to increased ability to travel distances solo.
Began working Goodwill cashier job a couple weeks ago. Reduces available development time and tires me out a bit.
I owe deliverables to DOF and DIHG organizations. I will be reorganizing my schedule to accomodate my new job while making sure I spend appropriate time towards my deliverables.
The weeds/defense zone, workshop and living space organization, processing of our recycling into goods, and preparing the soil for fall gardening is top of mind.
I've started a new hugelkulture mound, a very large one, near the compost where raised beds used to be.
I plan to use a strategy for weed control that will involve filling polystyrene(?) bags with dirt, and then leaving them around the edge of the house where I want to kill the invasive grasses for a few months.
I am extremely sorrowful that we were not at home for much of monsoon season. We missed the critical moment where we would have captured the rain that could have powered many of my gardening goals... We were a bit late purchasing the gutters anyway, but then everything else happening, eroded our time away completely. I imagine we might appreciate being able to install the gutters during cooler temperatures though, so maybe it isn't so bad.
So, I want to focus on the parts of my notes today that are relating to:
* Things we learned about well systems
* Fall gardening activities
* Repurposing recyclable packaging
