ProtonMail is a sectarian, abusive snake oil company.

They've predated people who were abused by Twitter – arguably people who were abused AFK and then got abused by Twitter, and then by ProtonMail.

Their product was unusable before the 4.0 version and at this moment they've retracted their presence from the Fediverse, because Mastodon was advertised as a platform for Twitter abuse survivors.

They also make a big deal about their products – which are based upon OpenPGPand VPNs– by claiming to be Swiss-based which means that the underlying technologies can't protect their users from a State threat model by themselves.
