- I went to boost a post, having forgotten which social platform I was in (sometimes with the different clients it takes me a minute to remember if I’m in the Fediverse, or in Bluesky (which will join the Fediverse fully soon), or in X (which doesn’t have plans to IIUC).)I saw this in the UI and I thought: cool, I can [[quote post]], like in a platform that fully makes sense to me. it turns out this was in #X. You can’t widely perform this action today in the #Fediverse, and that gives me pause.

- After #X was shut down in #Brazil a week ago, more than 2 million people flocked to Bluesky. I don’t know how many came to the Fediverse, but going by @mastodonusercount I’d say it was likely considerably less than 100k.This seems, to put it bluntly, a failure and missed opportunity for the Fediverse. How can we do better next time? Who out there wants to do better than this?
